Admission Policy

Admission to CWC is granted to any student who can demonstrate that he/she meets the institutions admissions criteria. CWC does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin or sex. Students who are denied admission can appeal admissions decisions to the institution’s President within 10 days, but CWC does not promise or guarantee admission to anyone. Additionally, CWC reserves the right to deny admission to anyone who falsely provides admission information to CWC or who misrepresents their status to CWC for any admission standards.

In order to be admitted to CWC the student must meet the following criteria:

  1. The potential student must be at least 14 years of age.
  2. The student must demonstrate that he/she is here in the U.S. legally.
  3. The student must provide the institution with a completed application.
  4. The student must take a preadmissions assessment test to determine his/her English proficiency.
  5. The student must pay a registration fee that is non-refundable of $200.

The student must submit the following documents to CWC prior to admission:

  1. A completed application for admission.
  2. Proof of age either by a driver’s license, government I.D., passport, birth certificate or official copy of high school diploma or other officially recognized documentation.
  3. Submission of two letters of reference and a statement as to his/her educational objectives.

If a nonimmigrant alien student wishes to enroll, the student will need to submit to CWC the following:

  1. A completed application for a nonimmigrant student.
  2. Proof of citizenship in his/her resident country.
  3. Proof of financial responsibility to cover tuition and living expenses for one year while studying in the Los Angeles area. (a bank statement)

After submission of all required documents, CWC will provide the student with a confirmation of admission to CWC. An acceptance of admission is good for up to 1 year. If a student does not enroll and start classes within this 1-year time period, the admissions offer will expire and the potential student will need to reapply for admission. Previous admission does guarantee future admission to CWC.

CWC will make accommodations for special needs students. Any special needs for which the student might require additional help in the learning process must be indicated on the application. Admission is not based on special needs of the student.

For all students, admission is granted on an open enrollment basis with students being granted permission to start approximately each Monday in the week except for holidays. In this case, students will start the first scheduled class day of the week.
